News Day Express reports on the leading causes of high blood pressure in India. Some same patterns are observed in the United States.

Vitamin D deficiency

Vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of hypertension, according to a report published in NCBI. Most people, however, associate vitamin D deficiency with weak bones and hair loss. The health of the heart is also affected by vitamin D. Therefore, adequate levels of vitamin D are crucial.

Sleep apnea

A sudden drop in blood oxygen levels during sleep apnea raises blood pressure and stresses the cardiovascular system, according to the Mayo Clinic. High blood pressure (hypertension) is associated with obstructive sleep apnea. You may also be exposed to an increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, and abnormal heartbeats if you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea. Experts recommend sleeping at least 7 to 8 hours every night in such a situation.

Processed food

The consumption of packaged and processed foods is not healthy. Additionally, salty foods like fast food, chips, cookies, canned soups, and sauces directly affect blood pressure. Water is drawn into the blood when salt is consumed. As a result, pressure builds up in the surrounding tissues of the blood vessels, which leads to an increase in blood volume. Additionally, processed foods cause weight gain, which makes it harder for the heart to pump blood.

Loneliness

Nowadays, most people like to stay busy with work and social media. As a result, loneliness is also on the rise. Phone conversations are now the only way people feel comfortable talking. It is also important to have a social life, as it keeps your mind fresh, preventing situations such as stress and depression. Chronic loneliness is directly linked to depression, weight gain, and high blood pressure.

Painkillers

In order to avoid even the slightest pain, most people sleep with a painkiller beside them. Do not take this medicine if you are also suffering from a headache or joint pain. By providing immediate relief, these medicines increase the risk of high blood pressure
