The Garmin range of devices has just expanded to include a smart blood pressure monitor. A clinically validated device, Index BPM, can store up to 100 measurements. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity are both available, but Wi-Fi is the easiest to configure. Measurements will be sent to a cloud.

Garmin Connect shows your reading history (7 days, 4 weeks, 1 year), along with averages. PDF files can be exported. Your healthcare provider can then receive them via email. Each Garmin account can sync up to 16 users’ readings. By using the Garmin Connect app, users can set reminders and receive notifications on their smartphones.

This is a FDA-approved clinically validated blood pressure monitor. The average will be calculated from three consecutive measurements or a single measurement. Four AAA batteries power the device. Index BPM can last up to 9 months with normal use.
